NXP Brings the i.MX RT1186 "Crossover MCU" to Its FRDM Platform for Easy Industrial Automation

NXP Semiconductors has announced a new FRDM development board, this time designed to ease evaluation of its i.MX RT1186 "crossover microcontroller" chip for industrial automation — its first FRDM board to feature any i.MX RT part: the FRDM-IMXRT1186.

"Industrial systems are becoming more connected, software-defined and intelligent," says NXP's Will Wang of the company's latest launch. "Developers are increasingly being asked to support deterministic networking, real-time control, cybersecurity, edge computing and multiple industrial communication protocols while reducing development time and accelerating deployment."
