Nvidia's DLSS 5 Launches Today With NBA2K27 and a Big Performance Boost
Nvidia has announced the impending launch of its DLSS 5 AI visual enhancement technology. Set to be widely available today (September 3), it will launch with official NBA2K27 support on all RTX 50-series graphics cards and chips on desktop, mobile, and GeForce Now. Nvidia also shared benchmarks demonstrating performance improvements and hints of future game support, including Hogwarts Legacy.
When Nvidia first debuted DLSS 5 earlier this year, it was met with skepticism. Gamers didn't like the heavy-handed, Instagram-like visuals, nor the enormous performance hit: It required a whole separate RTX 5090 to run.
The new version of DLSS 5 is much improved, we're told, with Nvidia promising that high-end cards can easily hit high frame rates.
