Nuclear Power Could Really, Actually Be Coming Back

These days, news from the energy sector is about two things: global disruptions in oil shipping and the enormous constellation of new nuclear plans emerging worldwide. Nuclear fission is seeing either a first introduction or a revival in Bangladesh, South Korea, and Japan, as well as in Saudi Arabia, China, and, yes, the United States.
European countries are commissioning their first new reactors in decades while Canada's government plans a "new nuclear renaissance." The Global Nuclear Energy Agency's projections are rosy, including a "transformative scenario" that sees global nuclear energy production reach an astonishing 1,324GW by 2050—more than four times the current total.
