Nothing OS 5 is moving forward, but three Nothing phones are staying behind.

Nothing has confirmed that Nothing Phone 1, Nothing Phone 2, and CMF Phone 1 have reached the end of major software support and won’t receive Nothing OS 5.0. The Android 17-based update has already entered open beta on select supported devices, with additional betas and general releases scheduled through January 2027.

For owners of those three excluded phones, the absence of Nothing OS 5 does not necessarily mean it is time to replace the hardware. The bigger question is how much security support remains and whether keeping the device still makes sense.
