Japanese supplier remains in place despite scrutiny over its Horizon role
Northern Ireland's Education Authority plans to add £15 million to Fujitsu's EA One contract without a new competition, taking its ceiling to £55.4 million.
The authority intends to exercise five one-year extension options already built into the deal, keeping the Japanese supplier in place until March 31, 2032. The current term is due to expire in March 2027.
Public sector awards to Fujitsu have attracted scrutiny since the supplier acknowledged its role in the Post Office Horizon scandal. The company has voluntarily stopped bidding for contracts with new UK government customers until the public inquiry reports, although it continues to pursue extensions and procurements already in progress.
