No need for tickets says Workday's Jerry Ting, as new agents take on IT provisioning and travel

Last week, Workday announced two new AI agents that automate end-to-end, multi-step processes in the fields of IT Service Management (ITSM) and travel booking. Yesterday, diginomica spoke to Jerry Ting, General Manager of Workday AI Agents about these new capabilities, which are designed to complete actions that previously had users switching between different applications to get things done.

For example, the new Travel Agent, which is already in use with early adopter customers, is able to plan trips while taking account of participants' availability, propose and confirm bookings in line with individual preferences and corporate travel policies, update participant calendars, and automatically generate and code expense reports. To complete these actions, the agent interacts with travel booking applications, participant calendar and email apps, and Workday's own expense management app, among others, on behalf of the user.
