New Memory Frequency Record Edges Closer to 14GHz at Computex 2026

Gigabyte has claimed the world memory frequency record with its in-house overclocking team at Computex 2026. The combination of Corsair Vengeance LPX memory with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Tachyon Duo X Ice motherboard let it push the boundaries of what's possible a little further, achieving a new world record at 13,556MT/s.

Memory records are more proof of concept than they are realistically useful, but like advanced spacecraft and Formula 1 race cars, the technologies used to achieve the extremes can trickle down to real-world products we all end up using. In this instance, Gigabyte achieved this new memory record by leveraging its new CQDIMM technology, which optimizes the clock driver on CUDIMM modules (and adjusts the circuit design in compatible motherboards) to deliver more memory in fewer sticks.
