New Firefox Roadmap Reveals What's Next in Privacy, AI, and Performance
Mozilla has published an interactive public roadmap revealing what's next for Firefox. Though the roadmap is ever-evolving and will include new plans as they're announced, it's already got some exciting stuff.
Firstly, from a productivity POV, Mozilla plans to incorporate a "Nova" design refresh featuring a more modern user interface. Firefox recently introduced a redesigned settings page and has started rolling out tab groups on Android; iOS support is coming later this year. Mozilla is working on features like curated link sharing, picture-in-picture mode for web pages, and more.
Jumping to security, Mozilla is working on a free, built‑in VPN for mobile that mimics the one introduced on desktop last year. A private window with one‑click cookie clearing, native containers that help keep work and personal logins separate, ad and tracker blocking on iOS, a blocked‑tracker dashboard, breach alerts, and anti‑fingerprinting protection are also on their way.
