Nasscom said Indian technology companies are continuing hybrid work models and adopting energy-saving measures after PM Narendra Modi urged businesses to revive work-from-home practices amid global energy concerns linked to the US-Iran conflict

India’s technology industry has said it is continuing with established hybrid work models as companies respond to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent call to reduce fuel consumption amid the ongoing global energy crisis linked to the US-Iran conflict.

In a statement issued on Monday, industry body Nasscom said technology companies are “calibrating work-from-home and in-office arrangements based on role requirements and customer needs” while also taking steps to optimise energy use across campuses.

The response follows PM Modi’s remarks at a public event in Secunderabad, Telangana, on May 10, where he urged citizens and businesses to revive practices adopted during the Covid-19 pandemic, including work-from-home, online meetings and video conferencing, to help conserve fuel and reduce pressure...
