Murf AI’s Falcon 2 Takes Aim at OpenAI and ElevenLabs With Faster, Cheaper Voice AI
Murf AI's Falcon 2 is not only about making voice AI sound more natural or respond faster. According to Ankur Edkie, Co-Founder and CEO of Murf AI, one of the harder engineering problems is making those gains work economically when voice agents begin handling millions of calls simultaneously.
Murf AI launched Falcon 2, its new AI model for generating natural-sounding speech for voice applications. In an independent Artificial Analysis Speech Arena comparison, Murf said Falcon 2 ranked ahead of OpenAI Realtime and ElevenLabs' Flash and Turbo models for how natural the generated speech sounds. The model can start generating audio in less than 100 milliseconds, which helps voice agents respond quickly during conversations. It is also priced at $0.01 per minute of generated speech, compared with $0.05 per minute for ElevenLabs' Flash and Turbo models, according to Murf.
