Multi-Agent AI Is Having Its Microservices Moment
I would like to take you back to 2014 for a second.
The room had always had one of those people in it who just got back from a conference and who just couldn't go on and on about microservices. Netflix was doing it. Amazon was doing it. "We need to do it too." And so the monolith was split. Services multiplied. There was no one who owned the boundaries. A half-year later, the on-call calendar resembled a horror movie, and latency had somehow deteriorated.
It was not the problem of the architecture. The rush was. That is the film that is re-running now, except that the word on everyone's lips is not microservices, but agents.
