Mozilla Introduces Native Ad Blocker for Firefox on iOS
Mozilla has started testing a native ad blocker for Firefox on iOS. The feature uses an EasyList‑based filter to block many, but not all, ads at the network level before they even load. This approach stops requests to known ad networks, exchanges, and trackers so most ads never reach the page.
The simply named "Ad Blocker" is separate from Firefox's existing Enhanced Tracking Protection. The latter focuses on privacy and tracking and is toggled on by default. The new Ad Blocker, however, targets the visual experience of ads on screen and must be manually activated under Browsing > Content.
Ad Blocker won't block ads in search results from Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, and other search engines. Predictably, it will also allow sponsored content to appear on the Firefox Home and New Tab pages.
