Microsoft will stop syncing OneDrive on older Windows 10 versions next month

Microsoft will end OneDrive synchronisation support for Windows 10 versions before 22H2 on August 15. After that date, users on older builds will receive no more sync app updates, bug fixes, or security patches. The service itself will not immediately stop working, but Microsoft says “future functionality is not guaranteed.”
Windows 10 22H2, the final version of Windows 10, will continue receiving OneDrive sync updates until October 10, 2028. Microsoft said the change “aligns OneDrive support with the Windows lifecycle policy and helps Microsoft focus ongoing investments on supported operating systems.” Microsoft 365 file synchronisation services will also be affected on older builds.
