Microsoft Researcher Uses Age Of Empires II Goats To Challenge AI Hype
Don't think it's just the tech and finance worlds that have been subsumed by AI hype. Academia is also crazy for AI, publishing an untold number of papers all about the capabilities and potential of AI technology. Only, a lot of these papers (like a lot of papers in other fields, to be honest) have fundamentally unsound methodology, and Microsoft's Adrian De Wynter is tired of it. He's now published a paper titled "If LLMs Have Human-Like Attributes, Then So Does Age Of Empires II," and it's a hilarious takedown of academic AI hype.
