Microsoft Ditching Steam For Xbox PC Releases? Not So Fast
Comments made on a recent podcast by Windows Central executive editor Jez Corden prompted various outlets to post rumors suggesting that Microsoft is planning to stop publishing games on Steam, and the rumor mill got in such a fervor over it, that Corden himself stepped in refuted the claims. In short, he states that his comments were taken out of context, and points out the various ways that the PC is tied to the Xbox's future.
For those familiar with the plans for Project Helix, this shouldn't be a surprise. Project Helix will reportedly be a major disruption to the existing conventions of the console market, and may function as a powerful Windows PC with (perhaps) a more comprehensive Xbox Full Screen Experience UI and likely strong backward compatibilitywith existing Xbox consoles.
