Microduck Wants to Make Physical AI Easy

Artificial intelligence (AI) is not only getting more powerful, but it is also becoming more accessible. Anyone with a reasonably modern computer can download an AI model, fine-tune it, and begin experimenting. Unfortunately, robotics hasn’t quite kept up in this regard. That means developing AI systems that can interact with the physical world is still challenging. In most cases, you’ll need expensive hardware, specialized software, and plenty of patience. Hugging Face and Pollen Robotics are hoping to change that with a new robot called Microduck.

Standing just 25 cm (9.8 inches) tall and weighing only 780 grams, Microduck is a small biped robot built specifically for learning and experimentation.
