Meta Launches Muse, a Personal AI Agent That Acts on Your Behalf
Meta launched its personal AI agent, Muse, in the US on September 8. The tool is reportedly more than just a chatbot, handling responsibilities like email, calendars, payments, health apps, shopping, and smart home systems on users' behalf. It's available now through a dedicated app on iOS and Android, your browser at muse.ai, and WhatsApp chats, with support for Meta's AI glasses coming soon.
Muse runs inside a per-user cloud virtual machine called the Muse Secure VM. A Sentinel agent checks actions before anything leaves the VM, and sensitive tasks like sending messages or making payments require user approval. Meta says users' credentials go into secure storage so Muse can use them without actually "seeing" full passwords or card numbers.
