"Mean time to not me" - three views from Dynatrace on the reflex that observability is trying to eliminate
Bob Wambach and I were on a tangent. I'd mentioned 'mean time to innocence' – the shorthand an interviewee used at KubeCon for the org reflex of proving an incident isn't yours before it's anyone else's problem. Wambach came back with a phrase:
Yeah, I used to call that 'mean time to not me', so it was just not my problem, right?
We moved on, but a couple of weeks later, I'm still mulling it over.
