Marc Benioff says the 'UI is the AI' - so whose AI is the UI?

When I wrote about Headless 360 earlier in the year I only really had one point to make — that Salesforce was serious about its agentic transformation. Because what initially seemed like a flood of unrelated announcements boiled down to one question — how to make Salesforce legible to the agents that will increasingly mediate between its information infrastructure and the actors who want to use it?

And its answer was largely to turn Salesforce into a set of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers — to enable agents to access information and actions — and a set of skills — that tell agents how to do certain common tasks within the Salesforce ecosystem.

So last week’s announcement of Claudeforce — essentially that Claude’s natural language interface is now becoming a primary route into Salesforce and potentially disintermediating its own application UIs — comes as no surprise.
