In a bid to combat the growing influx of generic, low-value posts and comments, LinkedIn has rolled out a new feature allowing users to report suspected AI-generated “slop.” The professional networking platform now includes a reporting option—labeled “seems like AI slop”—designed to help flag automated content that adds little genuine insight or value to user feeds.

Curbing Automated Engagement

The decision comes as social platforms face a surge in AI-generated text and imagery. A recent study by AI-detection platform Pangram Labs highlighted that over 40% of long-form posts on LinkedIn were entirely generated by artificial intelligence, labeling it one of the most AI-saturated networks.
