We live in a mostly digital world and so analog systems feel like dark wizardry to me. There are so many ways to embed information in an analog signal and they’re all more complicated than the high-low bits of a digital signal. That’s why it is so amazing that Daniel Yordanov was able to transmit an analog composite video signal on a laser beam.
If you’re well-acquainted with various A/V transmission and communication technologies, this won’t seem too crazy at first. After all, TOSLINK fiber-optic connections have been common for many decades now. A laser can do the same thing, just through the air, right?
