Lack of evidence undermines the case for AI in the justice system - major new report delivers a damning verdict

Last month diginomica took a look at the topic of AI and the legal/justice system. One of the things that came through most clearly was what an emerging field this is. That’s a message that has been echoed with today’s release of a major new study from the Nuffield Foundation thinktank which concludes that AI roll out is outpacing necessary scrutiny. In other words, we’re charging ahead a bot-powered justice system without there being much evidence that this is a good idea or that it works.
