Kevin Durant and his business partner invested $250,000 in Hugging Face’s early rounds and his payout is reported at around $60M if Nvidia’s $12.9B acquisition completes. Employees at late-stage European startups own roughly 10% of their companies against 20% in the United States.

Kevin Durant put $250,000 into Hugging Face and may be about to collect roughly $60M. Front Office Sports reports the figure, which rests on Nvidia completing the acquisition it is said to have agreed.

The proportions are what make it a story anywhere. On his current contract, $250,000 is a little over two days of Durant’s basketball salary.

His record explains why nobody sounds surprised. Thirty Five Ventures, the firm he runs with Rich Kleiman, has been on the cap table of Postmates, Coinbase, Acorns, Robinhood, DraftKings and Whoop.
