Karnataka Scales ELEVATE to Back More Early-Stage Startups
The Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, has opened the 25th call under ELEVATE, its flagship grant-in-aid programme for startups. Applications open May 25, 2026, with grants of up to ₹50 lakh for selected startups.
This year’s edition marks a structural shift for the programme. For the first time, Karnataka is running all four ELEVATE tracks simultaneously, signalling a push to make state-backed startup funding more accessible across sectors, regions, and founder groups.
The Focus Is Expanding Beyond Capital Access
At a surface level, ELEVATE remains an early-stage grant programme designed to support startups during the prototype and proof-of-concept stage. Selected ventures receive one-time grants of up to ₹50 lakh.
However, the larger significance lies in how Karnataka is repositioning the programme.
Beyond direct funding, startups selected under ELEVATE also gain access to mentorship, incubation support, networking opportunities, Centres of Excellence (CoEs), and Technology Business Incubators (TBIs)....
