Karnataka discusses expansion of Takeda’s Bengaluru GCC
The Government of Karnataka has held discussions with senior leaders from Takeda Pharmaceutical Company on expanding the company’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru and strengthening collaboration across the state’s life sciences and digital innovation ecosystem.
The meeting, hosted by the Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Biotechnology, focused on Karnataka’s strategy to position GCCs as centres for innovation, research and product development. Officials highlighted the state’s technology talent, biotechnology ecosystem and policy initiatives aimed at supporting global enterprises.
Takeda’s delegation, led by Lauren Duprey, Chief Transformation Officer, met with state officials, including Dr Manjula N., IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, along with representatives from the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre.
