I've watched all of Ransom Canyon season 2 and have fallen head over heels in love with it — but Netflix must be furious that its Western drama has to follow Dutton Ranch
Sometimes, subjectivity wins out. Ransom Canyon season 2 was never going to be the best Western TV show on the market, but I can't deny how much whimsical fun I had while watching. The cowboy drama is weak, but as a soap opera, it's operating on top form.

- +Patricia Clarkson is a fantastic new cast member
- +All of the ensemble cast feel fully utilised and fleshed out
- +The scenery alone gets one star
- +Functions exactly as a soap opera needs to

- -The ranch feud and cowboy drama doesn't live up to other Western shows we've seen this year
- -As always with soap operas, it's more of the same
- -Fairly anti-climactic season finale
