In 2026, I have tested a whole bunch of different TVs, from OLEDs to RGB LEDs, but the models that have performed the best have been the ones using existing, tried-and-true technology. For instance, the TCL QM8L is a QLED TV, albeit with a slightly fancier version of Quantum Dots, and you know what? It’s great. The Hisense U7 is also built around existing QD tech, unlike the step-up, RGB-based UR8, and it’s a better TV for it.
The Hisense U7 has a lot going for it overall. It’s affordable, super bright, and it’s a sweet display for gaming. Though I had hoped the U7 would be a replacement for the previous (and excellent) U8QG,...
