Island Computing to Launch Fully Managed Sovereign Cloud in India
Island Computing will make its fully managed sovereign cloud platform generally available in India on August 15, targeting enterprises, government organisations, startups and technology companies that need greater control over where their data and workloads are hosted.
The Bengaluru-based company said its platform has been built entirely within India, with its data centres, hardware, operating entity, cloud operations, identity systems and audit logs operating under Indian jurisdiction. The company is positioning the platform as a domestic alternative for organisations running sensitive workloads across artificial intelligence (AI), software-as-a-service (SaaS) and other regulated environments.
Island Computing said the platform is designed around a distributed control and data plane that remains fault-tolerant across data centres. It is also designed for multi-tenant SaaS applications, long-running agentic AI workloads and regulated AI processing on Indian data.
