Usually, Apple unveils the latest and greatest iPhone model at its early September event, but that could change this time. We’re anticipating Apple’s long-awaited first foldable iPhone (the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold) and premium models of the iPhone 18 this month.
But we may not see the rumored iPhone 18 base model at Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event next Wednesday, Sept. 9. It might not be released until spring of 2027. That’s one of several changes we can expect under John Ternus’ leadership as Apple’s new CEO. There’s also the chance of higher iPhone prices due to the RAM shortage and catching up on AI advancements like Siri AI and sticking to promises of AI features settling a lawsuit for $250 million.
