iOS 27 Will Finally Fix a Common Android-iOS Messaging Annoyance
Apple will finally let iPhone users reply to specific messages from Android phones when iOS 27 arrives in September. Called inline replies, the feature is common across most mainstream messaging platforms today.
Before this, replies to specific green-bubble messages appeared as new texts, which broke the flow of chats, whether in group chats or DMs. Now, pressing and holding a message from an Android contact and tapping "Reply" will create an inline response that links directly to the original text. Android users see the reply tied to that message, just like in iMessage or WhatsApp.
The same goes for emoji reactions. When an iPhone user reacts to a photo or message from an Android contact, the recipient sees the actual emoji instead of a line of text saying "You liked an image."
