Instawork Wants To Building The Human Data Layer For Physical AI In India; Targets 60,000 Workers
Instawork Robotics Lab (IRL) has launched its Instacore wearable system in India to collect real-world training data for robots, as the company expands its physical artificial intelligence (AI) operations and plans to increase the number of workers participating in data collection from more than 6,000 to about 60,000 over the next one to two years.
The San Francisco-based company uses five cameras and sensors mounted around a worker’s head, chest and wrists to capture video and movement data while the worker performs physical tasks. The company said the system is being used in environments including kitchens, warehouses, hotels and manufacturing facilities to generate data for general-purpose robots and physical AI foundation models.
