Deloitte India has released its annual GST@9 Survey titled “The Next Phase: GST 2.0”, capturing the views of nearly 1,100 business leaders across sectors on GST’s nine-year journey and the priorities for its next phase of evolution.
The survey finds that GST now enjoys near-universal acceptance, with over 99% of respondents reporting a positive or neutral experience. While compliance digitisation (69%) has emerged as GST’s biggest success, businesses continue to seek greater clarity on tax interpretations, faster refunds, streamlined audits and improved working capital efficiency. Looking ahead, respondents have strongly backed AI-led compliance, automated tax utilisation and a more intelligent, integrated GST ecosystem.
