India and Brazil Sign Bilateral MoU for Telecom & ICT Cooperation

India and Brazil have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation across telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The strategic agreement was signed in Pune by India’s Union Minister for Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, and Brazil’s Minister of Communications, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, on the sidelines of the BRICS ICT Track Meeting.

Broad Technological Cooperation Framework

The accord establishes a bilateral framework for information exchange, policy sharing, and collaborative initiatives anchored in mutual equality and shared benefit. Key technical domains specified in the partnership include:

Next-Gen Connectivity & Networks: Collaboration on 5G deployment, 6G research, Open RAN architecture, Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity, and private industrial networks.
Satellite & Infrastructure: Joint efforts in Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs), Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite systems, spectrum management, subsea cabling, and optical fiber networks.
Emerging Tech & Security:Knowledge sharing surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Public Infrastructure...
