IIIT Hyderabad Launches Centre To Study Learning In AI Era

The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) has launched the Centre for Educational Technology and Learning Sciences (CETLS) to study how people learn as artificial intelligence becomes part of classrooms, workplaces and everyday life.

Launched on September 5, CETLS will combine learning sciences, cognitive science, psychology and technology to examine learning across different stages of life. The center will also study how AI-powered tools can support learning without reducing the process to simply generating answers, summaries or solutions.

From AI Use To AI Learning

A key area of research for CETLS will be the difference between using AI to complete a task and using AI as part of the learning process.
