IBM and Sarvam Team Up to Scale Sovereign AI in India

IBM and Sarvam have announced a collaboration to advance sovereign AI technologies for governments, public sector organizations, and regulated enterprises across India.

Rather than focusing on another foundation model, the partnership combines IBM's Sovereign Core with Sarvam's India-first AI stack to help organizations move AI initiatives beyond experimentation and into production.

From AI Pilots to Operational AI

Many government AI projects have demonstrated technical feasibility, but scaling them across departments has remained challenging because of governance, security, language diversity, and operational complexity.
IBM and Sarvam say their collaboration is intended to address those barriers through technology demonstrations, pilot deployments, solution accelerators, and technical advisory programs targeted at central and state governments as well as regulated industries.

The combined platform integrates IBM Sovereign Core, designed to provide organizations greater control over AI governance, operations, and data, with Sarvam's reasoning models and multilingual voice technologies trained in India.
