I watch the first 4 episodes of Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch and Beth and Rip's return couldn't be more different — and that's the biggest compliment I can give

I need you to bear with Dutton Ranch when I say that it's tonally in between The Madison and Landman. Beth and Rip's future without Yellowstone has got a lot more personal, and the new threats that face them in Texas are genuinely thrilling.

+Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are as exceptional as ever
+Beth and Rip's move to Texas is well handled
+New cast members, including Annette Bening and Ed Harris, are fantastic additions
+John Dutton and Yellowstone legacy threaded in early on

-Taylor Sheridan needs to take a bigger creative lead
-Naturally, we don't care as much about anyone other than Beth and Rip
