I tested Kodak’s latest bridge camera with a frankly ridiculous 65x zoom range, and it's ruined my pricey pro lenses forever
The Kodak PixPro AZ653 is one of the best bridge cameras I’ve used and is a great choice for beginners or photographers who want to travel without a bag full of lenses. The massive 65x zoom range is useful when you can’t be sure exactly what subjects you might encounter and want all focal lengths at your fingertips. Image quality is also respectable, despite the tiny sensor, with a usable dynamic range and good resolution. Yes, the pixel count might seem a touch pedestrian in 2026, but Kodak has been wise to resist the allure of headline-grabbing megapixel values and instead focus on building a camera that knows its limitations. The AZ653 isn’t going to replace a mirrorless camera any time soon, but for the price you pay, it does what it sets out to do very well. It’s also a lot of fun and handles beautifully.
