How Wales Air Ambulance is cutting back-office time to save more lives

Wales Air Ambulance - a critical lifesaving service that delivers advanced emergency medical care anywhere in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - says a move to intelligent automation has cut costs, improved staff morale and freed up time that can now be devoted to its primary healthcare mission.

That journey started with the weekly lottery that is its primary fundraising mechanism - and the labour-intensive admin behind it.

Running it required staff to maintain multiple systems, process daily BACS reports, manage direct debits and cancellations, and manually create supporter communications.

These repetitive tasks were time-consuming, prone to human error, and limited the organization's ability to scale, says its Head of IT, Kieran King.

Since the introduction of back-office automation, however, tasks that once took an entire day can now be completed in an hour. He says:
