If you're a long-time Mac user moving to Windows, you'll be familiar with the option to force quit apps. When an app is unresponsive and doesn't listen to normal close requests, a force quit does exactly what it says: stop an app no matter what.

On Windows, app management works a bit differently. As you might know, clicking the X icon in an app closes its window, though this won't always end the process. You can forcefully end a process on Windows, which is not actually called "force quitting" but is functionally the same. There are a few different ways to do this, depending on how stuck the app is.
