But while there is clearly increasing interest among organizations in measuring the environmental impact of AI across their entire value chain, many have little idea of exactly how to do so. Around 75% of Sustainability teams have no idea of how to track or establish the environmental impact of AI. You've got the Googles and Microsofts of this world making a good step forward on publishing data about the carbon footprints of their data centers, for example, but it's not yet trickling down to smaller organizations. The vast majority here are measuring Scope 1 and 2 emissions, but Scope 3, which includes business travel, is a huge challenge.
