The debate/controversy around AI’s role in Hollywood rages on. Late last year Disney signed a groundbreaking deal with OpenAI to throw open a large chunk of its IP to the tech firm, a move which critics argued would lead to brand damage as the world was flooded with AI slop based on the output from the House of Mouse.

In the event that fear didn’t come to pass because OpenAI pulled out of the deal when it decided abruptly to ditch its Sora video generator app. But Disney is still embroiled in a row with Google amid allegations of massive copyright infringement which resulted in a slew of cease-and-desist letters being fired off in December last year.
