Apple's first iOS 27 developer beta lays the groundwork for what now appears to be a super-probable foldable iPhone. Code references and developer documentation indicate that Apple is preparing iOS to support more screen sizes and aspect ratios, including two separate displays.

In the beta, there are terms like "foldState" and "angleDegrees" that current iPhones don't use. These suggest that iOS might be able to determine whether a device is open, closed, or at a specific angle.
