HDMI 2.2 Ultra96 Cables with 96Gbps Bandwidth Now Available
The first HDMI 2.2 Ultra96 cables supporting up to 96Gbps bandwidth are now available. Chinese brand Silkland is the first company out of the gate with its new H96 series cables. Priced at $33 for the 2-meter version, it's likely to be competitive with existing HDMI 2.1 options.
HDMI has evolved considerably over the years. Although its main strength has always been its combination of audio and video transmission, making it stellar for living room devices like game consoles, set-top boxes, and streaming sticks, it hasn't always offered the most cutting-edge support for resolution and refresh rates. But the latest generation cable is once again putting HDMI out in front of the likes of DisplayPort 2.1, and even Thunderbolt 5, with a massive 96Gbps bandwidth.
