HDB region can become a major technology and manufacturing growth corridor for Karnataka: Priyank Kharge
The Hubballi-Dharwad-Belagavi (HDB) region is emerging as a technology, manufacturing and investment corridor in Karnataka, with the state government looking to build on its capabilities in semiconductors, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, deep tech, Industry 4.0 and advanced engineering.
Karnataka Minister for Home, Information Technology, Biotechnology and E-Governance Priyank Kharge said the region has the industrial and institutional base to play a larger role in the state’s technology-led growth.
“The Hubballi-Dharwad-Belagavi (HDB) region is emerging as one of Karnataka’s most promising technology, manufacturing and investment corridors,” Kharge said. “The region has a strong industrial base and is now seeing growing capabilities in technology, advanced manufacturing and innovation.”
The three cities bring different strengths to the proposed ecosystem. Hubballi has a growing technology and entrepreneurial base, Dharwad has academic and research institutions, while Belagavi has an established presence in aerospace, precision engineering and advanced manufacturing.
