HCLTech, Sarvam Partner On ₹14,257 Crore AI Data Center In Odisha
HCLTech has announced plans to set up its first AI Data Center in the upcoming Odisha Sovereign AI Park in partnership with AI startup Sarvam and the Government of Odisha. The project carries a planned capital outlay of ₹14,257 crore, including financial assistance from the Odisha government.
Rather than treating AI infrastructure and AI models as separate investments, the project brings both together. HCLTech will contribute its enterprise AI and infrastructure capabilities, while Sarvam will provide its foundation models to build sector-specific AI applications for government and enterprise customers.
Inside The Partnership
The announcement comes less than two weeks after HCLTech outlined its plans to enter the full-stack AI market. According to the company, the Odisha facility will support AI training and inference workloads while helping develop sector-specific AI applications. It is also expected to strengthen India's sovereign AI ecosystem, support the local developer community, and enable multilingual AI services.
