GSA says it’s uncovered ‘record-setting’ $13B in suspected procurement fraud

The White House added General Services Administration fraud estimates to its website that serves as a ledger for suspected fraud across the federal government.
The General Services Administration announced that it has found $13 billion in suspected procurement fraud since March 2026 in what is the largest suspected fraud bust in the agency’s history, according to a Tuesday press release.
In collaboration with the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, GSA uncovered the suspected fraud by using contracting data, public reporting and inspector general enforcement information, the agency said.
“Anyone who lies their way into receiving taxpayer dollars is putting their business, their reputation, and their freedom at risk. GSA is fully committed to working with Vice President [JD] Vance’s task force to root out fraud and protect the integrity of federal procurement,”...
