GoogleBooks Launch With Models From Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Dell, and HP
Google has launched its new range of GoogleBook laptops, blending premium design with mid-tier pricing and an expansive suite of software and web access to sweeten the deal. Available for preorder from Monday, the new laptops come in a range of flavors from different manufacturers, with Intel and Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU options.
The GoogleBook is Google's attempt to enter the mid-range laptop space at a time of great turbulence. While Windows is being squeezed by price rises and increased competition from Apple, Google is pitching its new brand as a third option, bundling together capable hardware with a lean operating system that's part Android, part ChromeOS.
