Google Rebrands NotebookLM as Gemini Notebook, Unveils Expanded Cloud Features
Google is officially consolidating its suite of artificial intelligence tools by rebranding its popular research and note-taking assistant, NotebookLM, as Gemini Notebook. The tactical name change moves the platform squarely into Google’s unified Gemini family, placing it alongside core offerings like the standard Gemini app and Gemini Live.
Initially introduced to the public during Google I/O 2023 under the working prototype name “Project Tailwind,” the standalone tool has achieved massive global scale. According to Google, the platform has grown to support more than 30 million individual users and over 600,000 active corporate organizations worldwide.
Seamless Transition for Existing Users
Google has confirmed that the rebranding effort will not affect daily operations or user data workflows. The software modification is purely aesthetic, updating the platform’s title, logo, and cross-application visual themes.
