Google has announced the 2026 cohort of its Google for Startups Accelerator: India, selecting 20 AI-first startups from nearly 2,500 applications.

The announcement marks the 10th anniversary of Google's Accelerator programs and reflects the company's continued focus on supporting startups building AI solutions for real-world applications across healthcare, climate, finance, manufacturing, cybersecurity, developer infrastructure, legal technology, and enterprise software.

The selected founders recently participated in an in-person bootcamp at Google's Bengaluru campus. Over the next three months, they will receive access to Google's AI technology stack, technical guidance, and go-to-market mentorship aimed at helping them scale their products.

AI Innovation Moves Beyond Chatbots

Rather than concentrating on consumer AI assistants, this year's cohort highlights startups developing specialised AI systems for industries where automation and intelligence can improve operational efficiency.
