Google Finally Launches the Windows Version of Its Gemini App
Google has brought its native Gemini desktop app to Windows after five months of macOS exclusivity. It's now available globally on Windows 10 and Windows 11 via x64 and ARM64 devices.
The Gemini desktop app allows PC users to directly access Gemini without going through their web browser. The base app is free, but advanced features and higher usage limits require a Google AI subscription, which starts at $4.99 a month.
The app gives Gemini system-wide PC access. Pressing Alt + Space opens a Gemini overlay on top of any window, letting users ask questions about onscreen content, request that Gemini summarize or rewrite that content, and more. A side panel displays chat history, a daily brief, Notebooks, recents, document and media libraries, and connected apps, like Gmail, Drive, and Docs.
Other integrations include Nano Banana for image generation and Gemini Omni for AI videos.
